That?s right, we are excited to announce Grouse Malting and Roasting is now offering certified gluten-free and organic ingredients!
Offering organic products has been important to us long before founding. We believe all people should have access to high quality food & beverages regardless of an intolerance or allergy, and this certainly includes offering organic options. While we utilize organic seed (buckwheat, corn, oats) for sprouting, malting & roasting, becoming organic certified is an important and required step to be able to sell finished products as 100% organic. We?ll be adding organic millet to the lineup of offerings in the near future!
The process of becoming organic certified is extensive?but worth it. It requires an initial application, an on-site visit from the certification agency (in our case the Colorado Department of Agriculture- CDA), thorough review of submitted documentation, inspection of the process & processing equipment, mock recalls, and more.
We believe the extra expense and energy it takes to achieve the organic certification is extremely valuable. Remember the marketing term ?natural? in no way equals organic and there is no substitute for the organic seal on a food or beverage.
Grouse is excited to continue supporting organic farming. Choosing organic options helps protect our air, soil, water, and food supply from potentially toxic chemicals and other pollutants.
