As 2025 comes to an end and we look to the new year, Grouse wanted to share some exciting updates reflecting back over the past 12 months.
In March, at the Craft Maltster’s Guild Craft Malt Cup competition, Grouse’s very own Goldfinch Millet Malt won a gold medal in the Unique Malt category. If you are unfamiliar with our Goldfinch Malt, it is a millet malt with hints of maple, bran, toasted cereal, honey, and sweet caramel. It is amber in color, and will have light to medium sweetness, no sourness, no bitterness, and low mouthfeel. It is a fan-favorite among Grouse’s employees and is used in many of the brews we do on-site!
Later in the year, Grouse’s founder and CEO welcomed a new addition to her family. Baby Zenna joined Twila and her family back in September. Both are doing well, and Twila took a much-needed step back to rest, recover, and spend time with her family over the last couple of months. She is looking forward to easing back into work at the malt house in the new year!
Grouse has continued to push the boundaries of gluten-free malting. We’ve undertaken several updates to our manufacturing processes recently, including new equipment to make our packaging line more efficient, automating some steps in our production processes, and actively designing on-site and malting equipment expansions.
We are excited about all that is on the horizon for 2026 and cannot wait to share more about our plans for the future as the groundwork is laid!
